特に、台詞に登場する東洋古典『中庸(Doctrine of the Mean)』第23章(chapter23)は、大きな感動を呼んでいる。
「どんな些細なことも気を抜かずに最善を尽くすことが大事だ。些細なことに最善を尽くせば、真心を込めるようになる。真心を尽くせば表ににじみ出て、表ににじみ出たら表に現れ、表に現れれば性格が明るくなり、性格が明るくなれば人に感動を与えるようになり、人に感動を与えれば自分自身が変わり、自分自身が変われば成長する。だから、唯一真心を尽くす人だけがこの世の中を変えることができる」(其次致曲 曲能有誠 誠則形 形則著 著則明 明則動 動則變 變則化 唯天下至誠 爲能化 Next to the above is he who cultivates to the utmost the shoots of goodness in him. From those he can attain to the possession of sincerity. This sincerity becomes apparent. From being apparent, it becomes manifest. From being manifest, it becomes brilliant. Brilliant, it affects others. Affecting others, they are changed by it. Changed by it, they are transformed.
